Where Taycor may fit

MCA Shield’s assessment: Taycor is worth comparing for a business considering different equipment loan or lease structures, including a startup seeking a suitable program. Before choosing an offer, establish the actual creditor, cash due at signing, full scheduled cost, early-payoff calculation and final ownership terms.

Positive experiences

Visible Trustpilot reviews describe helpful representatives, clear communication and assistance with equipment purchases. Some entries are from vendors discussing their customers’ applications, rather than borrowers reviewing their own contracts. Review examples.

Concerns to investigate

Negative BBB and Trustpilot entries raise issues involving costs, payoff expectations, application communication and who provided the financing. These are individual customer reports, not established findings about every transaction. BBB feedback · Trustpilot feedback.

BBB responses include an offer to clarify disputed contract terms and a statement that another reviewer’s issue was resolved. Those are the company’s responses, not independently verified resolutions.

How useful is the Birdeye score?

It provides another place to inspect feedback, but the displayed entries include workplace commentary and an unrelated cryptocurrency promotion. Treat it as a mixed-source aggregate rather than a clean sample of equipment borrowers. Trustpilot and Birdeye also show El Segundo addresses, while Taycor’s current contact page lists Irvine.

Taycor Financial BBB rating, accreditation and complaints

Taycor Financial has an A+ BBB business rating and is not BBB Accredited in the reviewed profile. Its customer-review score appears separately above; an A+ grade is not an A+ customer-satisfaction rating.

The profile matches Taycor’s website, phone and Irvine address. BBB lists “TF Group LLC,” while Taycor’s website terms and North Mill’s acquisition announcement identify TF Group, Inc. Confirm the legal name on your agreement rather than treating those labels as interchangeable.

Read the complaint record in context: a count does not reveal transaction volume, and absence of a public narrative does not mean an issue never occurred. Check the source again when comparing an actual offer.

Is Taycor Financial legit or legitimate?

The public records reviewed support that Taycor is an established operating finance business. Its current company site identifies Michael Hong as president, and North Mill documents an acquisition of Taycor’s parent. That establishes business identity; it does not establish that a particular proposal is affordable or suitable.

Who owns Taycor Financial?

On November 8, 2024, North Mill Equipment Finance announced its acquisition of 100% of the stock of TF Group, Inc. The announcement said Taycor would retain its name as an independent division focused on direct and vendor origination.

Sources: North Mill: November 2024 acquisition of TF Group, Inc..

Is Taycor a direct lender or a broker?

Taycor publishes lending-license information, while its terms also describe matching applicants with outside providers. Ask who will fund, hold and service your agreement. Ownership by North Mill does not identify the creditor for every program advertised through Taycor.

Founding history and licenses

Taycor’s historical announcement dates its founding by Bob Skibinski to 1997; BBB lists a business start date of May 17, 1999. The sources differ, so this profile does not substitute one date for the other.

Historical FTC/SBA warning letter

The FTC and SBA sent TF Group, Inc., doing business as Taycor Financial, a warning letter dated June 22, 2020. It raised concerns about potentially misleading pandemic-relief marketing by Taycor or its lead generators, including SBA-related representations on disasterloanassistance.com.

The cited document is a warning letter, not a court judgment, a fine or a final finding of liability. It is historical context concerning that marketing; it does not determine the terms or outcome of a current equipment-financing transaction.

Taycor Financial rates, interest rates and fees

A single current APR schedule covering all Taycor equipment financing was not verified. The company’s FAQ says pricing depends on credit, operating history, equipment cost, term and structure. A starting rate on a partner page should not be presented as the rate every applicant can obtain.

Sources: Taycor: eligibility, credit checks, upfront payments and lease options.

Partner-page starting rates checked October 21, 2026; neither is established here as an all-in APR.

These figures come from different programs. Neither sets a ceiling, and an approved offer may be more expensive. Do not compare an interest rate, a lease payment factor and an APR as though they measure the same thing.

A quote checklist, not a claim that every listed charge applies.

Early payoffThe equipment page advertises no prepayment penalties and potential savings. Request the applicable calculation in writing. Source

Compare the full cost, not just the payment

Hypothetical illustration; not Taycor pricing: for the same $80,000 equipment purchase, 60 payments of $1,700 plus a separate $500 fee and $1 buyout total $102,501. A second proposal with 60 payments of $1,600, the same fee and an $8,000 buyout totals $104,500. The lower payment costs $1,999 more to reach ownership.

This illustration excludes taxes and insurance and is not an APR calculation. Any first/last installments paid upfront are part of the 60 payments, not additional installments to count twice.

Taycor Financial requirements: credit score, startups and minimums

Published eligibility statements vary by program. Use them to identify the right application path, then confirm the requirements for your business and equipment.

Does Taycor require a 550 credit score?

The company’s current official material reviewed here does not establish 550 as a universal minimum. Treat numbers found in third-party summaries as something to confirm for the exact product, rather than a promise of eligibility. Credit score alone also does not establish the price or acceptable equipment.

Can a startup qualify?

Taycor’s current company page describes programs for startups as well as established businesses. Tell the representative when operations began and whether the request is for a business loan, lease or a different product. Ask about the actual owner obligations before accepting an alternative offer.

Sources: Taycor: company background and leadership.

Does applying affect your credit?

Taycor says it uses a soft inquiry. Its terms specifically add that certain lenders may make a hard inquiry for a firm offer. Ask which entity will obtain the report and when. The soft-pull statement should not be extended to every later step.

Prepare a complete equipment request

Have an itemized seller quote, equipment description, age, serial/VIN details if available, and the proposed delivery date. Separate taxes, installation, shipping and services from the asset price. For a used asset, ask what inspection, title or lien documentation the provider needs. This is application-preparation guidance, not a claim that Taycor always requires every item.

Taycor equipment financing, leasing and other programs

New and used equipment

Taycor describes both loan and lease structures for equipment, vehicles and software. The ownership outcome depends on the selected agreement. Equipment program.

Commercial and specialized equipment

Published categories include construction, manufacturing, agriculture, printing, restaurant, medical/dental and technology needs. An industry category does not mean every asset or applicant qualifies. Industry coverage.

Software and technology

The equipment page includes software configuration and customization. Ask what portion of implementation, service or subscription costs can be included in the proposal. Software and technology overview.

Agriculture and uneven cash flow

The agriculture page describes seasonal, quarterly and semiannual payment options alongside monthly payments. Obtain the dates and amounts of every scheduled payment. Agriculture financing.

Cash-out equipment refinance

The Pawnee Premier page markets borrowing against equipment already owned. Ask about valuation, existing liens, refinance costs and the resulting payment obligation. Refinance program.

Business lines of credit

The dedicated page says an initial draw is required, followed by no ongoing usage requirement or monthly service fee. That does not establish that borrowing is interest-free or that no other charges apply. Line-of-credit terms.

Working capital, factoring and SBA-related options

Taycor’s materials also list term loans, bridge loans, advances and factoring. Partner material describes SBA-related financing. These are separate from the equipment program: confirm the product, lender, payment frequency and fees instead of carrying an equipment rate or term into a working-capital comparison.

Sources: Taycor: eligibility, credit checks, upfront payments and lease options · Taycor / Bidadoo: partner-specific equipment program.

Private sellers and auctions

The general equipment page advertises seller choice, and the Bidadoo page describes an auction-related financing channel. Confirm the particular seller, payment deadline, title requirements and approval conditions before committing to a purchase. A financing inquiry is not assurance that an auction obligation will be funded.

Taycor leases, early payoff, guarantees and ownership

What happens at the end of a Taycor lease?

The FAQ describes fair-market-value, $1 buyout and fixed purchase options, including 10%. FMV can involve buying, returning or extending; the dollar-buyout explanation mentions $1 or $101 depending on state tax rules. Have the selected agreement identify your exact purchase obligation.

Sources: Taycor: eligibility, credit checks, upfront payments and lease options.

No prepayment penalty still needs a payoff calculation

Taycor’s equipment page advertises early-payoff savings. Request written payoff illustrations at months 12 and 24 for your proposed agreement, showing remaining charges, discounts and purchase amounts. The most useful comparison is dollars saved relative to scheduled remaining payments.

Taycor Financial vs. JR Capital

The practical distinction: JR explicitly shops a lender network. Taycor has a documented finance-company parent and also discloses outside providers. In either case, ask for the legal name of the creditor and a complete proposed contract before comparing costs.

Sources: JR Capital: broker and lending-partner disclosure · Taycor: provider relationships, fees, credit inquiries and website terms · North Mill: November 2024 acquisition of TF Group, Inc..

When JR Capital is especially relevant to compare

For a used machine, private-party purchase or older vehicle, JR’s general page gives more specific seller and asset guidance: equipment dating from 1990 onward, dealer or private-party purchases, and terms tied to age or mileage. It advertises zero down while identifying a high-mileage-truck exception. Treat those as published program statements, with final lender approval still required.

Sources: JR Capital: general equipment financing.

The towing page separately covers wreckers, rotators, rollbacks and roadside equipment, with startup options. Its larger application-only threshold should be discussed as a towing program, not assumed to apply to every equipment request.

Sources: JR Capital: towing-specific limits and terms.

What to compare on the actual offers

Send both companies the same seller quote and disclose the asset’s age, hours or mileage. Ask whether the seller is acceptable, what inspection or title work is needed, and how many lenders will receive the file. Then compare total cash at closing and the complete payment schedule. A larger application-only limit may save paperwork but does not establish lower cost.

JR advertises two-hour approvals and, on its general page, same-day funding for non-titled deals versus 48-hour funding for titled deals. Ask when those timelines start and which conditions remain before the seller is paid.

Sources: JR Capital: general equipment financing.

Our assessment: JR is a relevant alternative when seller flexibility or a specific truck/equipment category matters. Taycor is worth comparing when you want to evaluate several lease structures and their ownership outcomes. Select the better written agreement for the same purchase, not the lowest headline starting rate.

Taycor Financial vs. Ascentium Capital

The practical distinction: Ascentium identifies its loans and leases as provided by Regions Bank doing business as Ascentium Capital. Its published credit criteria are more specific than the universal minimums verified for Taycor. Ascentium also discloses referrals when an applicant does not fit its standard criteria.

Sources: Ascentium: general equipment financing and leasing · Ascentium: typical credit and ownership criteria.

Eligibility and documentation

Ascentium’s typical equipment criteria include 650+ FICO for guarantors, two years in business, no bankruptcy in the prior ten years and an approved vendor. Most transactions require guarantors representing at least 51% ownership; eligible guarantors/signers must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. A related corporate guarantor can support a business-age exception, and stronger commercial credit or financial disclosure may support consideration without personal guarantors.

Sources: Ascentium: typical credit and ownership criteria.

The Regions page publishes higher application-only thresholds than Ascentium’s general equipment page. Ask which program actually applies; do not assume either threshold is universal. Similarly, Ascentium’s $2.5 million vehicle limit is separate from its general $2 million equipment limit.

Sources: Regions Bank: Ascentium application-only programs · Ascentium: general equipment financing and leasing · Ascentium: commercial vehicle financing.

Fees and early payoff deserve a close comparison

Ascentium says there is no application fee but there is a one-time documentation fee after approval. Its FAQ also describes prorated interim billing, possible insurance charges and eligible soft costs up to 30% of the total financed amount.

On early termination, Ascentium says there is no contractual right to prepay. For an account not in default, it may agree to a written request and calculate a payoff using discounted future payments without an additional penalty or fee. Compare that directly with the written payoff terms accompanying Taycor’s advertised early-payoff savings.

Sources: Ascentium: fees, guarantees, soft costs and payoff FAQ · Taycor: equipment financing and leasing.

Our assessment: Ascentium is particularly relevant for an established business that can compare its profile with published bank-program criteria. Taycor’s advertised younger-business path may warrant investigation where standard criteria are a concern. Neither provider’s business model establishes that its offer will cost less.

Taycor application process, funding speed and customer service

  1. Identify the purchase and program. Supply the business and equipment information relevant to the request; clarify whether you want ownership or a lease with a return option.
  2. Review eligibility and credit authorization. Establish who receives the file and what inquiries may occur before proceeding.
  3. Compare the proposed agreement. Review the complete cost, upfront payment, guarantees, liens and ownership terms.
  4. Confirm closing conditions. Ask about vendor verification, insurance, documents, equipment acceptance and the date funds can reach the seller.

Taycor describes online application, program selection and electronic signing for most programs. The FAQ advertises an approximately two-hour approval process for requests up to $150,000 after a one-page application. This is a company-stated decision timeline, not a guarantee that any application will be approved or the equipment funded within two hours.

How this profile was prepared

MCA Shield reviewed its October 16, 2026 research and checked the linked company, review-platform and public-agency sources on October 21, 2026. Company-published claims are identified separately from customer reports and our interpretation. This is public-source research, not firsthand borrowing experience.

We keep BBB grades, accreditation and customer scores separate; preserve differences between partner-program limits; and do not convert a promotional starting rate into a universal APR. Items not established by the reviewed materials remain questions to verify. The cost example is hypothetical. No composite star rating or universal best-company ranking is assigned.
