Important: The MCA Shield inquiry form goes to MCA Shield, not SBG Funding. MCA Shield may refer qualified inquiries to selected funding partners. SBG Funding inclusion is editorial and does not imply endorsement.

What stands out about SBG Funding?

Broad product mix: term loans, lines of credit, equipment financing, SBA access, invoice financing, revenue-based financing, bridge capital and other business funding options.

Hybrid model: SBG says it both provides some financing directly and matches businesses with lending partners. That makes identifying the actual funding counterparty important before signing.

Key due-diligence issue: published qualification and product figures do not always match across SBG sources, and a California DFPI regulatory order involving Mission Capital LLC should be reviewed before relying on a broad nationwide-availability claim.

SBG Funding company overview

SBG Funding is the operating name of Mission Capital LLC, a New York-based business financing company founded in 2017. Its public materials describe a model that combines direct financing with a marketplace of lending partners.

BUSINESS IDENTITY

Mission Capital LLC

SBG Funding’s matched BBB record identifies Mission Capital LLC as the legal entity and Jeffrey Sachs as CEO and principal contact.

BUSINESS MODEL

Direct provider + marketplace

Some products may be provided directly while others can involve outside lenders. The legal counterparty on the final agreement matters more than the website brand alone.

ADVERTISED REACH

All 50 states

SBG advertises nationwide availability, but product-specific state availability and licensing should be confirmed—particularly where a partner lender is involved.

Why the hybrid model matters: pricing, underwriting, hard-credit-pull procedures, collateral, guarantees, servicing and state availability can depend on the actual lender or financing provider matched to the application.

SBG Funding loans, credit lines & financing products

SBG advertises several financing structures. The figures below are product-specific snapshots—not a promise that every applicant can access the maximum amount or term.

Business term loan$5,000 to $10 million advertised6–48 months; weekly or monthly repayment500+ FICO, 6+ months in business and $150K annual revenue shown on reviewed product material. SBG says no collateral and no hard pull during its process.
Business line of credit$5,000 to $500,000 revolving lineDraw, repay and reuse available creditCurrent SBG page says interest is charged on amounts drawn; draw fee up to 2%; no maintenance, annual or inactivity fees advertised.

SBA financingSBA 7(a) access up to $5 millionLonger terms; potentially up to 25 years depending on useSBG’s research materials indicate partner-lender access rather than SBG itself being established as the originating SBA lender.
Invoice financingUp to 90% of eligible invoice valueRepayment tied to receivable collection / program structureDedicated page says no minimum credit score for this product and emphasizes customer/invoice quality.
Revenue-based financingAmount depends on business revenue and underwritingRepayment tied to business sales / agreementReview total repayment, payment-adjustment method, reconciliation rights and default terms.

Business HELOCSBG advertises access using home equityVaries by providerSecured by residential property. Business owners should understand the personal-property risk before using home equity for business capital.

Do not treat “up to $10 million” as a universal loan limit. SBG’s own FAQ says the amount depends on product and qualifications, and larger amounts can involve its financing marketplace.

SBG Funding requirements

The most consistent current qualification screen in SBG’s FAQ and several product pages is 500+ FICO, at least six months in business and four recent business bank statements. Revenue is the biggest published conflict.

500+

Published FICO threshold

SBG’s current FAQ and reviewed financing pages use 500 as the general minimum. Product-specific underwriting can differ.

6 mo.

Minimum time in business

Six months is the general minimum shown across current company materials.

4

Recent bank statements

Four recent business bank statements are commonly listed as the initial document requirement. Larger transactions may require more documentation.

$150K?

Revenue requirement needs confirmation

FAQ and product pages reviewed show $150,000 annually. Other company material has displayed $250,000 annually, and SBG-authored Trustpilot text has referenced $20,000 monthly sales.

Revenue discrepancy: MCA Shield does not assign one definitive company-wide revenue minimum because SBG’s published sources have conflicted. Ask which requirement applies to the exact product and provider being offered.

Other qualification items to verify

  • Whether a specific partner lender will use a hard credit inquiry before closing.
  • Minimum average daily bank balance or deposit count.
  • Ownership-percentage requirements for guarantors or applicants.
  • Bankruptcy, tax lien, judgment and existing-UCC policies.
  • Whether existing or stacked merchant cash advances are acceptable.
  • State-specific program restrictions.

SBG Funding rates, fees & total borrowing cost

SBG advertises starting monthly rates on some pages, but a monthly percentage is not automatically equivalent to an APR. The full annualized cost depends on the financing structure, repayment pattern, fees and balance over time.

Cost itemWhat is publicly establishedWhat to verify in writing
Advertised starting monthly rateCompany materials have advertised starting monthly percentages, including 1.25% per month on general financing material.APR or comparable annualized cost for the exact offer.
Standard APR rangeNot established as one universal range across SBG products.APR where legally applicable, finance charge and total repayment.
Line-of-credit draw feeCurrent line-of-credit page says up to 2% per withdrawal.Exact draw fee on your approved line.
LOC maintenance / annual / inactivity feesCurrent SBG page advertises none.Confirm the agreement matches the website disclosure.
Origination / closing / broker feesNo single universal current fee schedule established.Dollar amount and percentage of every upfront or financed fee, including third-party fees.
Early payoffSBG says treatment can vary by program and some programs may offer early-payment discounts.Whether payoff lowers total cost and whether any prepayment charge applies.
Revenue-based financingNo universal factor-rate or purchased-amount structure established.Purchase price, purchased amount / total repayment, payment schedule and reconciliation terms.

Monthly-rate warning: multiplying a quoted monthly percentage by 12 does not necessarily produce a correct APR. Ask for the total dollars received, total dollars repaid, repayment frequency, all fees and an annualized cost disclosure where applicable.

SBG Funding BBB rating, reviews & complaints

The matched BBB profile identifies SBG Funding / Mission Capital LLC at its New York address and separates the BBB business rating from customer-review scores.

BBB BUSINESS RATINGA

BBB Accredited since November 16, 2017. BBB ratings are not endorsements.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS4.94/5

Snapshot from 306 customer reviews on the main review page checked for this profile. Counts can change.

COMPLAINTS4

BBB currently displays four complaints in the last three years and one in the last 12 months.

What the complaint record shows

The current BBB complaint summary displays two complaints marked resolved and two marked answered. Categories shown include product, customer-service and service/repair issues.

Published complaint narratives include an identity/communication concern, unwanted financing marketing after opt-out requests, and a dispute involving differences between requested financing and offers presented. These are customer allegations and company responses—not independent findings that SBG engaged in wrongdoing.

How to read BBB data: a BBB business rating, accreditation status, customer-review average and complaint history are separate measures. None should be treated as a guarantee of pricing, approval quality or future customer experience.

Recurring positive themes

  • Responsive representatives and communication.
  • Help understanding financing options.
  • Fast decisions and quick access to funding.
  • Individual representatives praised for guiding customers through documents and terms.

Recurring concerns found in public reviews

  • Financing costs or fees higher than expected.
  • Differences between the amount requested and offers ultimately presented.
  • Questions about fees charged by both a broker and separate funding company in at least one review.
  • Marketing-contact complaints and communication issues in a small number of BBB records.

Review limitation: customer reviews can help identify recurring experiences, but they do not establish average APR, approval rate, default rate, average financing cost or whether refinancing saved a borrower money.

SBG Funding regulatory and legal research

A California regulatory action involving Mission Capital LLC, doing business as SBG Funding, is a material part of the company’s public record and should be reviewed in context.

California DFPI action: The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation lists a July 15, 2025 amended desist-and-refrain order involving Mission Capital LLC d/b/a SBG Funding. The order states that the regulator determined Mission Capital engaged in commercial finance brokering without the required California Financing Law license.

What the DFPI order says

  • Mission Capital LLC is identified as doing business as SBG Funding.
  • The company had filed a California finance-broker license application.
  • The order describes SBG’s website as referring small-business borrowers to licensed commercial lenders in exchange for commissions.
  • The regulator concluded Mission Capital had engaged in brokering activity without the required license.
  • The DFPI actions-and-orders database continues to list July 15, 2025 as the most recent action for Mission Capital in the retrieved record.

What this does not establish

The order does not, by itself, establish that every SBG transaction is unlawful, that SBG committed fraud, or that every product offered outside California has a licensing issue. The research also did not establish a later appeal, modification, stay, settlement or new licensing event that superseded the retrieved DFPI record.

Before a California transaction: ask SBG to identify whether it is acting as a direct provider, broker or marketplace for the specific offer, identify the legal funding provider, and explain the current authority under which the transaction is being offered.

Can SBG Funding refinance merchant cash advances?

SBG’s term-loan materials identify debt consolidation and replacing merchant cash advance balances as potential uses. That is materially different from MCA settlement or debt relief.

What SBG appears to offer

A new financing product may potentially be used to pay off existing MCA obligations when the business qualifies and the new provider permits the payoff.

What is not established

The research does not establish that SBG accepts every stacked, delinquent or defaulted MCA account, or that every refinance lowers the borrower’s total cost.

Before refinancing MCA balances, compare

  • The exact payoff amount required by each existing funder.
  • Any prepayment discounts or remaining purchased amount.
  • Total dollars received from the replacement financing after fees.
  • Total dollars required to repay the new financing.
  • Payment frequency and monthly cash-flow effect.
  • Whether liens, guarantees or additional collateral are created.
  • Whether the new financing pays old creditors directly or relies on the business to do so.

Do not evaluate an MCA refinance only by payment size. A lower weekly or monthly payment can still carry a higher total cost if the term is extended or significant fees are added.

Collateral, personal guarantees & UCC filings

SBG Funding application and funding process

  1. Apply online. SBG advertises a short online application.
  2. Provide business documents. Four recent business bank statements are commonly listed as the initial requirement.
  3. Underwriting. SBG says it evaluates revenue, deposits, operating history, credit and other factors.
  4. Review offers. Because SBG can operate as a marketplace, identify the exact lender or funding company before signing.
  5. Closing and funding. SBG advertises same-day decisions and funding as quickly as the same day or next business day for qualifying applicants.

Credit inquiry issue: SBG’s current materials advertise no hard credit pull during its application/approval process. Third-party material reviewed by MCA Shield has described a hard inquiry before funding. Ask whether SBG or any matched provider will make a hard inquiry and at what stage.

SBG Funding reviews, BBB, rates & requirements FAQs

Is SBG Funding a direct lender?

SBG describes itself as both a direct provider and a commercial financing marketplace. Some transactions may be funded directly while others can involve partner lenders or funding companies. Confirm the legal counterparty for your exact offer.

What is SBG Funding’s BBB rating?

The matched BBB profile currently displays an A business rating and BBB accreditation since November 16, 2017. That is separate from the customer-review average.

The current BBB complaint page displays four complaints in the previous three years and one in the previous 12 months.

What credit score does SBG Funding require?

Current SBG FAQs and product materials advertise a general minimum FICO score of 500, although product-specific and partner-lender underwriting can differ.

What is SBG Funding’s minimum revenue requirement?

There is a public-source conflict. SBG’s FAQ and several product pages show $150,000 in annual revenue, while other company material has shown $250,000 and company-authored Trustpilot text has referenced $20,000 in monthly sales. Confirm the requirement for the exact product.

What happened with SBG Funding in California?

Review the government order and ask SBG about the current status before a California transaction.

Is SBG Funding legit?

SBG has an established corporate identity, BBB accreditation, substantial customer-review histories and a long operating record. “Legit” should not be interpreted as a guarantee that any specific offer is low-cost or suitable. The California regulatory action and offer-specific terms still warrant review.

Who receives the MCA Shield funding inquiry?

MCA Shield receives it—not SBG Funding. The form is not an SBG Funding application and does not guarantee referral, approval, rate or funding amount.

How this profile was researched

The foundation is MCA Shield’s SBG Funding research package dated October 14, 2026. It reviewed SBG Funding company and product pages, BBB business/review/complaint records, Trustpilot, ConsumerAffairs, other review sources, and public regulatory/legal materials.

A supplemental October 15 review rechecked SBG’s financing overview, FAQ, line-of-credit and equipment pages; the BBB business/review/complaint records; Trustpilot; ConsumerAffairs; and the California DFPI action/order record.

Important unresolved items

One universal annual-revenue requirement, universal APR range, full broker/origination fee schedule, partner-lender hard-pull procedure, personal-guarantee policy, UCC policy, treatment of stacked/defaulted MCAs, complete state-by-product availability and current Google rating were not established across every SBG program.
